FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to frequently asked questions about gold savings and the GAP Account.
What is the difference between GAP account gold prices and physical gold prices?
GAP prices change daily around midnight while physical gold prices change every 20 minutes, so at any given moment the GAP price is lower or higher than the physical price.
Also, the GAP price is the same for every gram, while physical prices are not. The larger the physical gold gram, the lower the price per gram.
Savings gold 999 or jewellery gold 916 — which is better?
The biggest difference is the gold quality. Savings gold is usually 24k or 999 quality, while jewellery gold is usually 22k or 916 quality. Jewellery gold carries higher workmanship charges and is less suitable as savings with high-return expectations.
When is the best time to buy gold?
Actually the best time to buy gold is when we have savings money that will not be used anytime soon. If you wait for a low price, nobody knows whether tomorrow's price will be low or high.
What is the difference between a gold dinar and a gold bar?
The biggest difference is size and design. 1 dinar = 4.25 grams. In design, dinar sets are round while Bungamas or Tai Fook gold bars are square.
